Experience
When it comes to securing Development Approvals, experience can often be the decisive factor in a project’s success.
We’ve been involved in diverse projects, faced a multitude of planning issues and dealt with thousands of development applications.
Our experience extends beyond the fundamental planning services and can be summarised into three key areas:
Government
We’ve undertaken numerous strategic planning studies for local governments. These include planning scheme development and reviews, planning strategies, master planning and statutory planning assessment services. With an intricate knowledge of government processes and governance frameworks we can also assist Councils to manage their land holdings and property related matters.
Community Engagement
Engaging community stakeholders is critical to securing a positive planning outcome and this often requires more than the statutory advertising process. At Innovate Urban we have specialised skills in community engagement, including workshop facilitation. We work closely with local communities to understand resident’s concerns and develop solutions. We work towards the creation of vibrant places that leave a positive legacy that all stakeholders can be proud of.
Advocacy
Advocacy is the foundation on which Innovate Urban is built. It is an all-encompassing term for the range of planning tasks that we carry out including development applications and planning scheme amendments, planning appeals, provision of expert advice, and submissions to Government.
The lodgement of a development application is just the start of the process, with much of the critical work taking place later when we negotiate outcomes with State agencies and Councils. We have two decades of experience gained from working with Councils and State government agencies, so we are well placed to advocate for your project.
We understand that every project is important, regardless of the scale and complexity of the tasks at hand and we work not only for professional land developers, but for people from a range of backgrounds, including small business owners, retailers, and landowner groups.
Our advocacy experience includes compulsory land acquisition (resumption) matters acting for both Councils and land owners.
